Ironman NZ 2012 Preperation (Day 1) 16/10/11

T -140

My discipline and motivation has been at an all time low since I was 31. My weight is at the highest it has been since I was 30. Not a good place to be. This Blog is to help keep me motivated into training consistently and keeping my motivation levels up.
I am a sufferer of depression and have finally got medical help, which has been a great help, and totally recommend for anyone who is suffering too. You don't need to suffer the dark, and you are not alone.

I have 34 days until my first race since March, the Auckland ITU World Cup Race which is also a selection race for Triathlon New Zealand Age Group teams for 2012 World Champs, at home. I have been really struggling with motivation plus fighting depression for far too long. I think since Gold Coast, Australia 2009 I have been on a downhill slide.
I finally helped myself and those closest to me by getting help from the doctor for my depression. I have been on anti depressants for about a month and have seen great results so far in my mood and anxioties. Now to deal with motivation.
Jane a I rode 80km today, from home, around the bays, up Happy Valley Road, and back. My knee pain arrived again going over the Pass of Branda. Not a good sign going forward. It only occurs when on the bike and under heavy load so I can spin and be fine.
I have been slack in far too many areas of my life and training. Time to hit the reset button.
140 Days until Ironman NZ.
