Why is it that people will support those who acknowledge they have a problem, and are willing or doing something about it, but not those who are struggling with the problem before they themselves can address the problem?
But what is worse, the people who have to live the person who is depressed get no support. They are the forgotten in the mess, by the people outside looking in. They only hear "How is ........ doing?" "Is ....... ok?"
Never do they get asked "Are you ok?" "How are you coping?"
They are probably struggling just as much, and some times more than those of us with mental health problems.
Too windy to train outside today. Dangerous gusts means indoor cycling since there is no running on my schedule this week.
I have suffered from depression for a very long time, probably since I was a teenager. I have struggled with many aspects of my life to do the right thing, make the right choices etc. and now I am trying to be better. I acknowledged I had depression and did nothing about it. It took someone who I deeply respected to tell me they too had depression and they got medical to help, to finally seek actual real help. I am now and finally making real progress. Don't wait to get help!
