Day 4 - WTC Countdown July 3

Got woken up this morning by an overly excited teen at 5am, because this morning is the first swim session at Thorndon Pool. Anyone who knows this pool, knows it's a 33.3 yard open air pool in Wellington, in winter!!!! Alex was so excited it was annoying actually. I need to work on my morning moods quite a bit really as I am not really a morning person.

Once we got out the door at 5.50am, 4°C air temp, but no wind to mention at all. There was about 12 of the older kids there waiting to begin at 6am sharp. We got in the water ourselves about 6.10am and the water temp much better than the air temp but needed to keep moving to stay warm. At 6.30am we ended up having one public lane. 7 people with a massive range in swimming abilities so not a great lane to swim in today. Hopefully it is a novelty for those other people and they stay away from now on, but not holding my breath there.

Great hot shower after swimming and a bagel/coffee to warm me up then to work. Being a Tuesday, should be quite slow, but who knows. Everything packed for Auckland tonight straight after work. Cool!

We got to the airport all excited about leaving Wellington and getting to Auckland, and with a reputation like Jetstar, we ended up with not just a 1 hour delay, but and 2nd delay that dragged on to 3 hours!!! We not only got to Auckland just after 10pm, we got off at the International terminal, and got bused to the domestic terminal and entering the side door. All class Jetstar.

With all the excitement turned into exhaustion, we to the apartment and to bed just before midnight. Sleeping coming up, but still a good day!!
